Comment: Hey Jim, Nice page!!! I am in the market for a Palm PC and I cannot decide between the looks of the Palm V and the expandability of the IIIx. Any ideas? Glad to see that you really like yours. It is devoted guys like you that have made me stick with the Palm from 3com. D 20:52:46 05/12/99

Comment: I commend you on your website. Well laid out and not fru fru'd up. Interesting that you would include the "weight loss" info. Whatever it takes, keep up your program. I'm a IIIc user, (2days) and color rules. Just as a daVinci will work for some, I'm sure that monochrome will work for most, but if you are power user the trend is to color. Comment: Hi, I just wanted to say that your site gave me a lot of good and nice readíng (for me and my visor), and a few useful links as well. I found your site when I was looking for an application for the visor that can help me with the "driving-journal", when I use my car in work I all the time have to write down where I go, when I left, how far it was and so on... I havent found one yet, but maybe I can use the PIMC MiniCalc You had... Anyway, thank you, and bye. Svante 05:22:37 06/11/00

Comment: I ran accross your website looking for info on PDAs and spreadsheet info for them. I thought you would be a good one to ask about some quesstions I had. I am loooking to buy a PDA and think I will probably go with a Visor Deluxe. I would buy the 2mb unit but I don't think that it would work for what I want to do. What I was wondering was since you have used both Doc TO Go and Quicksheet which one would you recommend? I am a store manager for a Grocery store. We use e-mail a lot between stores and the general office. I work with spreadsheets a lot. My main use for the PDA would be to sync email, contacts, Word docs and Excel spreadsheets. I have read about both of these programs and can't decide which one to buy. Also do you think the 2mb visor would work for my large spreadsheets? Thank you for alowwing me to take up some of your time. 09:12:11 12/09/00

Comment: Thanks for the info, I can see you're very hap with your Handheld devices. I was ust given a 3Com Palm IIIe from my Dad. He has many toys yet, he's always in search of another before he can learn what the previous one can do for him. He replaced the Palm IIIe with a Kyreocra ? Phone which has all the same features as the Palm plus the phone. So I'm now the proud owner of the orphaned Palm IIIe. I build custom Hot Rodded PC's for a living, most are used by Musicians who are using the very cool, PC Digital Audio recorders Multi Track of course. I can build them the fast est and most powerful machine available today with what would equal at least $80'000 worth of recording equipment that I used to sell them just a few short years ago. All for about $1800.00 to $3000.00 depending on their needs. So you can see that I'm not yet as excited about the handheld products as you are. I typically have a hard time finding enough Data to put in to the applications. A parts /connector /and wire list for the neede patch bays could be helpful for system bids. I'm already most likely doing the wrong things first but habits are had to break. I'm looking for the upgrades, and patches enhanced software etc. Before I actually start using the Palm IIIe. I see many useful applications freeware / shareware and more but I have no idea which OS version I'm running. I've yet to know if the OS can be upgraded and or if all apps will work with any ? DAAA Can you help ? Give me a starting place I'll find the rest on my own. Thanking you in advance for your help. Best regards Rick Caruso 17:13:56 08/23/01

Comment: Dear Jim:

Your problem is not that you don't have will-power or self-discipline. What you need, as I'm sure you know, is to change your eating habits. And you can do this in 21 days. Here's how:/

1. Your day isn't really 24 hours long. If you sleep 8 hours, divide the remaining 16 into 6 parts, one for each possible meal and snack during the day. This means you could be eating every 2-1/2 hours---or not, if you choose. But starve you won't.

2. Divide your daily allowance into 3 parts; say, 20% breakfast, 30% lunch, 50% dinner, or however you wish. (If you want snacks, take them from the previous meal's allowance.) But having one meal of 50% lets you eat anywhere without worrying about breaking the diet. On a special occasion, simply switch allowances.

3. Don't change WHAT you eat. This is important; the best way to get rid of a food craving is to plan to indulge it regularly. And unless your doctor demands it, NEVER eat anything you don't like, no matter how good it's supposed to be for you.

Think in terms of TYPE of food: animal or vegetable protein, fruit, vegetables, desserts, snack food, dairy. What would you have for the world's greatest breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks? Plan each to contain the types of food you like so you won't have to reinvent the wheel every day.

4. Train your body when to be hungry so your mind isn't constantly glued on food. Here's how: Always eat at the same times every day, with no more than an hour's lee way. And every other day, for 21 consecutive days, eat EXACTLY HALF what you normally eat. If you usually have a sandwich and a bowl of soup for lunch, eat half a sandwich and half a bowl of soup. Eat half of whatever you usually have for a snack. Do this with all your other meals and snacks, every OTHER day for 21 consecutive days (not 19, not 20---21). From Day 22 on, drop the "half" day.

5. Along the way, write down all the changes you notice in your eating habits (there will be many) and in how you feel about food.

- - - When you reach your goal, you can use this system to keep from regaining any weight, without having to do a maintenance diet. It's also good to use if you ever feel you need a break from dieting. When you get back to it, you'll be starting from where you left off. All the best....Mary.

P.S. Actually, with the correct number of calories on both days, you can use this system to reach your goal automatically. Just keep it going after Day 21; you won't need motivation. And since you can eat whatever you want (a calorie is a calorie), you won't have to feel guilty about enjoying yourself.

Comment: I too am struggling to lose weight. Tomorrow I will join Weight Watchers for the seventh time in the last 20 years. I think that there should be a weight loss program for people who need to lose 100+ pounds. This time when I go the WW, I will not stay for the meetings. While they are supportive, they are also depressing. I lose weight slowly and it is hard to see people I consider thin losing 3-4 pounds per week when I am doing well just to lose 1 or 2 pounds. I enjoyed reading your information. I can identify with the frustration. I too have lost as much as 60 pounds only to regain it. I sincerely hope that you are having success with your weight loss efforts. Wanda 17:19:31 09/21/05
