Weight Loss Progress

In 1999, I lost 70 pounds. By November 29, 2009 I had gained back the 70 pounds I lost in 1999 along with a 55 pound bonus. Most of my major weight losses have been in years ending in 9. I hope to repeat this history of successful weight losses during 2009 / 2010. I am determined to loose 10+ pounds by the end of 2009, and an additional 140 pounds or so by the end of 2011.

Living in South Boston, MA, and being over half Irish, March 17th is a special day. Although today is an official local holiday commemorating George Washington forcing the British to flee Boston on March 17, 1776, St. Patrick's Day is by far the biggest celebration. I live about 2 blocks from Dorchester Heights where George Washington had cannons overlooking General Howe's troops which resulted in General Howe deciding it is time to leave, and Sunday's Evacuation Day / St. Patrick's Day parade passed by my house on its way to Dorchester Heights.

I will definitely enjoy the day, and maybe even have a dessert with my meal. However, starting tomorrow, March 18, 2009, I absolutely, positively must focus on a massive, permanent weight loss before my excess weight causes serious health problems which hinder my quality of life.

The lack of posts is again indicative of my failure to loose any significant weight. March 8, 2009 is the start of Daylight Savings Time, and hopefully the start of a major, permanent weight loss for me as well. I have to loose weight as the excessive weight is definitely impacting my quality of life. I don't mean the excessive weight has made me sick, I mean my activities are hindered by the excessive weight, and it is only a matter of time before the extra pounds do indeed impact my overall health. There are many diseases that weight definitely contributes to particularly as you get older. I don't walk as far, or often as I like due to the excessive weight.

I have said it before, and I will say it again - it is time for me to sh*t, or get off the pot.
