The end of the Memorial Day weekend, back to work tomorrow. Only 12 more workdays to go! The 12 days will fly by and I will be retired before you know it. It is exciting and scary at the same time.
Tomorrow is a holiday and I do not have to work. When I go back to work Tuesday, we will be in June and I have only 12 more workdays. It is scary, but I can't wait!
Nice day today. Went to the movies and then enjoyed the beautiful weather. In another two and a half weeks, I will be able to do this everyday.
Finished another workweek today and then went to the movies, my usual Friday night schedule. My next workday will be June 1 and I have only 12 more workdays before I take leave until June 30 and then retire. It is really sinking in now - in another 2 and a half weeks, I'll be finishing my work with the MWRA and starting another chapter in my work career. The major project I am working on has increased in scope; I'll be extremely busy until I leave on my final workday.
Just finished my 14th workday before retirement. Work tomorrow, then Memorial Day weekend. After Memorial Day, we will be in June with only 12 workdays left before I retire. It is still hard to believe that the time flew by so quickly. I know I am making the right decision; however, it is still a major, major step and a bit scary.
Just finished my 15th day of work before retirement, 14 more work days. Today it was very busy in work, but I will survive another 14 work days. This morning I really felt that the retirement date was getting very near. It is hard to believe that I announced my June 30 retirement date last September and now we are down to 14 workdays!
Up at 5 am for work this morning. Only three and a half more weeks of getting up at 5 am for work, then retirement!
Sunday morning - I will read the paper, go to a movie, watch the world go by for a few hours, and then use the computer when I get home. Soon every day will be like a Sunday, three and a half weeks to go until retirement.
Went to the movies as I usually do on a Friday night. I saw Shrek 2, it was very enjoyable. 3 1/2 more weeks of work and then I am retired. New project is going fine and I will be very busy until my last day.
New project in work, I'll be very busy right until my last workday. Good thing that I have finished the bulk of my file reviews and the major Pathlore/Crystal tutorials. If I don't get to the minor tutorials due to the new project, at least the major, involved tutorials are completed.
Less than four weeks to go and then retirement. Time will fly and I'll be enjoying the first days of my retirment before I know it.
Start of another workweek, only 1 and a half months to go. As indicated in prior posts, I have gone beyond the "am I really doing this" stage to the "I can't wait" stage. Went to Castle Island after work and enjoyed the time just thinking about what I will do after retirement. I am sure it will get old after awhile, but it will be nice to get up at whatever time I want, do whatever I want, and have no work tasks to finish. I am retiring at the beginning of the Summer, my favorite season.
Went to the show tonight as I usually do after work on Friday. I go to the Revere (MA) Cinema because it is close to work and, on Saturday and Sunday, I will go to the movies in Boston and/or Cambridge. Although I enjoy the Friday night movies at Revere and it is a nice change of venue, I probably will not go to this theater again after I retire. The theater is nice with stadium seating; however, after I retire, I probably will not be in the North Shore area often.
Another Friday, six more to go. The retirement is scheduled for June 30 which is a Wednesday. Friday, June 25 will be the end of my last full workweek. The office is looking good - the main file cabinets have been cleaned out and the top is nice and clean (for a change). I talked to other retirees and we are all getting excited about leaving and can't wait for June 30 to arrive.
Another day gone, making goood progress in going through 9+ years of files. I am getting excited about retiring and know June 30th will be here before you know it.
7 weeks from today will be my final workday. THE TIME WILL FLY-BY.
